Dr. Ingle is your local CEREC® dentist for single-visit
tooth restorations.
What is CEREC?
Cerec is an advance technology for restoring damaged teeth with a crown, inlay or only that can be completed in a single visit to the doctor’s office. The restoration is metal-free and cut from the highest grade ceramic material, lithium disilicate. It makes your teeth stronger and more beautiful – all the while keeping your teeth looking natural.
The CEREC Process
Dr. Lockett will meet with you to determine if your tooth a good candidate for this type of restoration. He will then discuss the details discuss the details for the procedure. At your Cerec appointment, first, the defective filling and decay is removed. If there is not enough tooth structure remaining to support a crown Dr. Lockett will place a glass ionomer material, called a “build up”, to serve as the foundation. Once the preparation of the tooth is complete, a reflective powder layer is dusted over the tooth for imaging. A series of optical 3D images are acquired with a small camera directly in your mouth. Your restoration is then, designed using computer aided software, commonly known as CAD/CAM. Diamond coated instructions mill out your restoration from a solid block of porcelain called lithium disilicate glass-ceramic. This ceramic is three times the strength of traditional ceramics. We then place your restoration in a ceramic oven for a process of stain and glazing. Once cooled, the precise fitting restoration is bonded in place for maximum strength and great looks.
